Rolomschrijving en taakafspraken

Stedin is looking for an Epic Owner / Project Manager DERMS. (FREELANCE NOT ALLOWED) Indication hourly rate can be found under "conditions"

Work you can be proud of. This is what you will do.
At Stedin, we are building the energy system of the future. We expand our grids, enhance system intelligence, and develop innovative solutions to optimize energy system design and usage.

System Operations ensures safe and uninterrupted energy flows. We are responsible for operational management, monitoring, control, and grid safety analysis. As energy demand increases and network dynamics become more complex due to centralized and decentralized energy sources, effective grid management requires advanced measurement, control, and intelligence. Future energy systems will integrate heat, hydrogen, storage, smart devices, and conversion technologies, necessitating new capabilities in data, analytics, autonomous control, and system intelligence.

The GO! Programme develops capabilities to better manage, monitor, and control our energy grids. System Operations must ensure security of supply across all electricity connections. To achieve this, we require functionalities (technology, data) and skills (people, organization) for load forecasting and grid security analysis.

As part of this, DERMS (Distributed Energy Resource Management System) Phase 1 will be implemented for five feeder areas to test its effectiveness. This epic will validate two hypotheses:
-    Business functionality: Can DERMS detect and mitigate transmission issues and be effectively integrated into System Operations business processes?
-    Architecture: Does the chosen architecture for DERMS provide a secure, high-performing environment? This is the first implementation of GE’s GridOS platform.

With positive results, a follow-up phase will deploy DERMS functionality within System Operations.

Key DERMS Phase 1 functionalities to be tested:
-    Detection and mitigation of transport issues in selected areas
-    Import of network models from ADMS into DERMS
-    Multi-interval power flow, Optimal Power Flow (OPF), and heuristic optimization
-    Interface between DERMS and GOPACS (dummy implementation)
-    Contract management and settlement to support transition from PIEK functionality

DERMS Phase 1 is scheduled from Q2 2025 to Q3 2026.

Your strengths. Make us happy.
As an Epic Owner / Project Manager DERMS, you have a strong grasp of system thinking, stakeholder management, sustainability, and regulations. You thrive in both strategic planning and hands-on execution, effectively communicating across various levels. You foster collaboration, drive results, and translate complex challenges into concrete solutions. You are proactive, structured, and continuously aware of market developments and industry forces.

Your expertise:
-    DERMS specialist with practical implementation experience in Utilities
-    Senior EMS/DMS/SCADA project and program management experience
-    Leading IT/OT environments for TSO/DSO
-    Cybersecurity and ICT management
-    Architecture design within TSO/DSO environments
-    Renewable energy integration and digital transformation
-    Business continuity and crisis management
-    Experience with SCRUM & Agile methodologies

A good team. That's where you belong.
You will be part of the GO! Programme Team within the System Operations department, a dynamic and professional group with a strong sense of responsibility. We depend on each other’s knowledge and work collaboratively to solve challenges.
